I had the chance to interview Ms. Company Lison, former student of the enseeiht and entrepreneur. I first contacted her via Linkedin to get more information about the entrepreneurship specialization at n7. We then scheduled a first phone meeting to discuss it. This first exchange allowed me to learn more about the option and really motivated me to join. I then asked her if it would be possible for me to interview her, because her career path seemed very interesting to me and that would allow me to have a real concrete feedback on entrepreneurship. We then had a second telephone meeting so that I could ask her the questions I had preapared.

Who is she ?

Mrs. Company is 27 years old, she is the founder of Balad, a startup that offers a modern and effective solution for learning the piano.

During her third year, she went to Montreal to study robotics for 6 months and then left for her final internship in Silicon Valley, in an IOT startup (which creates sensors to monitor machines that make cold, failure prediction with machine learning, maintenance...). Originally an internship of 6 months, it became a fixed-term contract of one year in total.

She then returned to France because she signsed a CDI at stanley robotics. She then worked there as a deployment engineer. She made sure that what is produced by the technical teams corresponded to the customers' expectations, carried out test procedures, and validated the deployments. She stayed there for a year and a half.

Very interested in entrepreneurship, she arranged with her employer to obtain a contractual break in order to train for it. She joined the HEC and X master in entrepreneurship.

After this training, she created her first company: "Hello Virtuoso" with an associate, and now she continues the adventure in solo with her company Balad.

Her daily life as an entrepreneur

As she is alone (with the help now of an "alternante") to manage Balad, her job and therefore her days are very multi - faceted. She is indeed taking care of all the aspects of the company: Management, sales, customer relations, piano lessons...

She told me that she really enjoys the fact that her job is never the same from one day to another and that she learns every day.

In order to gain perspective on her buisness, she often talks with other entrepreneurs, and sometimes even competitors, who have followed the same path and been through the same problems. She also discuss frequently with piano professors about her lessons, in order to improve them. Last but not least, she is supported by a startup incubator, and senior entrepreneurs mentors.

Conclusion & personal thoughts

I have learned a lot thanks to the interview. Mrs. Company was very nice with me and really helpful. I'am truly impressed by her work and abilities. I'm glad I have met her, and it sincerely encouraged me to follow an entrepreneur path.

<aside> 💡 Please note that the "professional networking information interview email" is absent because I contacted Lison directly via Linkedin at first for informations about the entrepreneurship option at N7, and that we then planned this interview during our first call.
